I'm still alive ...

Just when you thought I'd disappeared off the face of the earth ...

I'm back with an emergency version of Vogue 1020 which is probably long OOP.  I've come home with very little clothing, most of which doesn't fit. The rest is still in Hobart.  I needed a dress to wear and I thought making this in a cotton lycra would fit, but it was still baggy.  I need to put some weight on!

I hope to be back to regular sewing soon.  It's been a hectic three months!

Flooded in again ...

In an unseasonal downpour I find myself flooded in. You would think I would be sewing but, no, I'm not. I spent several hours watching episodes of Jeeves and Wooster on DVD before finally coercing Grant into taking his SWAP pictures, which will be seen in the fullness of time. I did, however, sew last weekend although only one garment as we had a family lunch on Sunday that took over my day. To wear to that lunch I made this dress. It's my TNT sheath based on Vogue 8146. I squeezed this out of a generous yard and as you can see from the picture, there was very little fabric left. I have many things cut out and I will be doing some more sewing later in the week but today I don't have the focus for it. Popping up

I've been busy. Too much going on. My energy is limited and my mojo almost non existent. I have made a few things, but nothing really very exciting. These jeans are from the free Burda style Anita jeans pattern that I make every time. Somehow I managed to erase all the other pictures I took and this is the only one left on the camera. Of course, I managed to keep the one that makes me look 6months pregnant. I used a heavy duty thread for the top stitching but I won't do that again, it looks a little cartoony to me. Still, the fit is good and I needed jeans desperately. Boy do I look fat in this picture! This is KS 33378 I think, the twist neck top that I have binned every time I've made it. This time it seems to work. This is an incredibly soft rayon jersey from Gorgeous Fabrics.
