Opinions please ...

I made this blouse, which is BWOF 02-10-114 from a wonderful cotton I bought in Tweed Heads. My dilemma is whether to use white or red buttons. Black I've already dismissed as too boring. I hope you can actually see them as these photos are out of focus. This is a lovely pattern and has a long version, too, which I think is 113. I omitted the large, turn back cuffs, but I'm considering making a long version in red. The long version also has oversized collar and stand, which looks fun. This stand is square, too, which is way more easy than the usual curved one.

I can't decide on red or white buttons, so I'm keen to hear your opinion. I'm leaning towards red because it takes away the preppy feel, in my opinion.

Here's also a bad shot of my label, which I made in red for this one because it felt like fun.

This skirt is BWOF 02-10-104. I made the shorter version with a piece of wool that came from the Vera Wang collection on Fabric.com. I know a lot of people expressed disappointment with the quality of some fabric, but this wool is lovely. It's quite fine and even a little see through so I lined it. It has 1% lycra, too, so it will be comfortable. Sadly, as Vera and I begin to look less and less like each other, this skirt looks daggy on her. You can't tell from this shot, but there are angled pockets at the hips.

This is a shot of the inside. I used the cotton from the blouse to face the band as well as make the pocket bags.

Two more additions to the travel wardrobe. Now that I'm almost finished my assignment, there will be more time for sewing!

Love the red label but I like the white buttons better.

yep that's a second for the white buttons. Love the polka dots - that's one very cute blouse!

Love that blouse! You can't have too many of them.
I think I would go for the white buttons as well. Red is very outstanding and can be interesting if you're into it, but it makes the blouse rather difficult to combine with other colours without making it look like there's a lot of colour going on. At least that's what I think :)

I vote for white buttons.

Yeah, I'm a little different. I think the red buttons give the blouse POP!

I love the red buttons! To me, red is a neutral when it's with white and black, so I don't even think it will limit what you can wear the blouse with. Plus, wouldn't it look fab with a red bag?

Either buttons look fine to me, though the red are a little more interesting. I like the facing/pocket bags of patterned fabric, such a fun touch.

Where in Tweed Heads do you buy fabric? I pass through that way often.

Great blouse and I am also going for the red buttons, the rest of your wardrobe will work with them. Your skirt I'm sure will look stunning on you and love the waistband.

Hate to differ from my friend Sharon, but I'd stick to white for the sake of versatility. If you want to add a touch of red, wear it on the belt or shoes.

Love the blouse and the red buttons, they do make the blouse pop. After working on a garment why not make it special. Most blouses have neutral buttons the red buttons make the blouse seem special!

Adore the red buttons. Why sew and not have fun or be a little crazy now and then.

I'm voting for the red buttons. The blouse will work with everything in your wardrobe and the colour will give everything a little "snap". Besides, you can always change them to white later on.

Great blouse! And I vote for the white buttons too. I think it's a bit 'fresher', or does that sound weird? :-D

Love the red buttons... I think they look more interesting and more 'fashion forward'. Beautiful sewing on both pieces. The white buttons don't look bad... but have more of a preppy basic shirt look to me. Your labels are very sharp looking too!

I am normally all about bold buttons, but I like the white ones better here. Adorable blouse!

I like both but I will go with the red. I love that you used the same fabric in the skirt too!

I agree with Gail... a red belt would look great with it.
